This historic early 20th-century villa, located on Piotra Niedurnego Street in the Nowy Bytom district, is one of the most distinctive landmarks on the architectural map of Ruda Śląska. Built presumably in 1905 as a prestigious residence for the director of the "Pokój" steelworks, the building was officially entered into the register of historical monuments in 1995.
The villa’s architecture is a unique example of the eclectic style, harmoniously blending elements of Art Nouveau and Mannerism. The structure is distinguished by its characteristic brick facades and a wealth of architectural details. Its most recognizable decorative feature is a mosaic depicting Saint Florian—the patron saint of firefighters and steelworkers—which highlights the building's historical connection to the industrial traditions of the region.
Over the years, the villa has served various purposes, including functions as a guesthouse and a kindergarten. Today, the building is being adapted to meet new social needs while continuing its educational and caregiving mission. Currently, this exceptional location is home to the "Barwny Świat ALter" Non-Public Integrative Kindergarten and Nursery. As a result, the historic space of Willa Florianka remains full of life, bridging its rich past with modern functions that serve the local community.
