"What Does the Spirit of the Place Sing About?"
Every place has its own voice – or rather, a choir of voices – in which the small and great stories of walls and generations echo. And Nowy Bytom hums, growls, and hoots with the sounds of the steelworks, the bear’s murmur, the ringing of bells and chimes, birdsong in parks and allotment gardens, prayers and curses in German, Polish, and Silesian. All of it in the rhythm of horses’ hooves, tram and train wheels, and the shifts of miners and steelworkers. In the tempo dictated by daily life and the rush of the industrial world.
We invite you for a walk during which we’ll press our ears to the walls and cobblestones of selected festival spots to hear what the spirit of the place sings about.
The first and second tour will start at 6:00 PM at the Blast Furnace of the "Pokój" Steelworks.
The walk will be led by Adam Kowalski, TuRuda Association.
Events carried out as part of the Project: “Fourth Nature Laboratories: Activation of Local Communities
