Open vocal workshops emphasizing Silesian identity
The workshops, which will take place at 8:00 p.m. at John Paul II Square in Nowy Bytom, will be an opportunity to immerse yourself in the Silesian soundscape. It will be a form of “living archeology” embedded in everyday space, an experience available to every passer-by. We will reach for workers’ and home songs.
This workshop will be more than just learning to sing. Participants will discover how song can be an element of city revitalization, a tool for building community, and a way to strengthen local identity in
a world of rapid change.
The sounds reverberating in John Paul II Square will not only be a memory of old times, but will become
a part of the pulsating city, its new rhythms and identity that draws from history - while looking to the future. In the open space of the Market Square, everyone who passes by will be able to stop and join in
the singing. Thanks to this, Silesian tradition will meet a new contemporary experience of the city - spontaneous, lively and accessible to everyone.
The workshops will be led by Dr. Krzysztof Dudzik - Artistic Director of the Choir Night
Events carried out as part of the Project: “Fourth Nature Laboratories: Activation of Local Communities
