Muzealny Chór Społeczny

Museum Community Choir

The Museum Community Choir has been operating at the Silesian Museum in Katowice since 2019. It brings together singing enthusiasts who are qualified to join the choir solely on the basis of their willingness to make music together. Anyone can sing in the Choir, regardless of their experience and skills. The group's repertoire is characterized by accessibility, lightness and a level of difficulty appropriate to the current condition of the choir.

The Museum Community Choir performs during concerts organized as part of the Silesian Museum's schedule of events (Biennale Industrii, Night of Museums, Barbórka, Programs: "Songs of the Night", "Music in Dialogue: Pieces for Voice and Piano") as well as external events: 3rd Night of Choirs in Gliwice, 4th Night of Choirs in Ruda Śląska.

The Museum Community Choir is led by Krzysztof Dudzik, a music educator and conductor with many years of experience in conducting choirs, a graduate of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music. in Katowice. Krzysztof Dudzik uses the relative method, derived from the concept of music pedagogy by the Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály. He is the artistic director of the International Choir Night Festival in Ruda Śląska.

In addition to his artistic activities, he is also involved in psychotherapy.
