POLONIA HARMONIA

The "POLONIA HARMONIA" Silesian Miners' Choir is based in Piekary Śląskie and was established in 1912.

The choir's repertoire includes works of both early and contemporary music. However, the core of their performances consists of sacred music and artistic arrangements of folk music, with a particular emphasis on the Silesian tradition.

​

The ensemble maintains an active concert schedule both in Poland and abroad. They have demonstrated their choral artistry in numerous European countries during more than 30 international concert tours. The choir's success is also reflected in the many laurels and awards they have won at various competitions and festivals.

​

POLONIA HARMONIA has released three CDs featuring:

  • Artistically arranged Silesian folk melodies.

  • Medleys of Silesian and mining songs, recorded in collaboration with the "Sośnica" Coal Mine Brass Band from Gliwice.

  • Christmas carols and pastorals.
