DZWON
The "Dźwięk" Mixed Choir operates under the Local Branch of the Polish Cultural and Educational Union (PZKO) in Karviná-Ráj. The choir’s history dates back to 1928.
Repertoire The ensemble boasts a rich and diverse repertoire, including secular, sacred, and folk songs. Their performances feature works in multiple languages, such as Polish, Czech, Slovak, German, English, and Italian.
Performance History and Travels The choir’s impressive history includes numerous prestigious trips and concerts, such as:

Workshops in Zakopane and participation in the 1st Festival of Borderland Choirs in Warsaw.

Performing in Leszek Wronka’s musical production "Olza".

Concerts across Slovakia (Prešov, Veľký Šariš, Bardejov) and the Czech Republic (Old Town Square in Prague, Poděbrady).

Participation in international events like the Trojoki Śląskie, the 1st Congress of Central European Choirs in Katowice, and the Festival of Slavic Choirs in Wodzisław.

A particularly memorable week-long festival tour in Belgium, which remains a highlight for the members.
In 1998, the ensemble recorded and released a cassette featuring 22 tracks, followed by a CD recording in 2007.
Leadership This proud legacy is the result of the talent and qualifications of its conductors, as well as the singers' dedication, vocal culture, and deep-rooted patriotism. For many years, the choir was led by Prof. Halina Goniewicz-Urbaś. Since 2018, "Dźwięk" has been conducted by Barbara Górniak (née Tomanek). The organizational manager of the ensemble is Irena Waleczek.
